Men’s lacrosse midfielder sophomore Tom Rixey scored the game-winning goal with just 2:36 left in the riveting game versus conference rival Franklin & Marshall. Rixey’s goal capped off an impressive 66 second three goal run that put the team ahead for good.
Rixey said, “we fired up coming into the game and when it came down to the end, we wanted to get a win for our six seniors on their senior night.”
As for his game-winning goal, Rixey said, “I came around the goal and left my feet to shoot the ball and it hit the goalie. There was a loose ball in front of the goal with people fighting for it, and fortunately for us the ball ended up in their goal.” Rixey finished the game with one assist and seven ground balls.
So far this season, Rixey has totaled six goals, three assists, and 13 ground balls.
