1. According to a poll by antivirus software company AVG, the average age that young children gain an “online presence” or “digital footprint” is six months. More than 70 percent of mothers post pictures on Facebook, blogs, and other sites. 33 percent of children have pictures posted of them by the time they’re one day old, and 23 percent have ultrasound pictures. A whopping seven percent are given e-mail addresses at birth.

2. Children may not have to worry about seeing awkward erectile dysfunction commercials with their parents anymore. The Parents Television Council is working with two pharmaceutical companies to get a list of where and when Viagra and Cialis commercials are aired. The results will be listed on the advocacy group’s website.

3. Yogis may not be as spiritually wholesome as they appear. A southern Baptist leader claims that, “the stretching and meditative discipline derived from Eastern religions is not a Christian pathway to God. 5. The porn industry is in trouble; an unidentified actor has recently been revealed to be HIV positive. Vivd and Wicked Pictures have shut down their studios, saying “quality porn is our business.” Wicked Pictures is the one and only hetero condom-mandatory porn company, but it is still shutting down.

6. According to Psychology of Addictive Behaviors, American study abroad students tend to drink far more, sometimes twice as much, alcohol after traveling overseas. Their alcoholic habits don’t tend to go back to normal after they come home.

7. The University of Florida discovered that on average, women who weigh less-than-average earn around $16,000 dollars more than their coworkers each year. Thin men, however, make up to $9,000 less.

8. A 16-year-old Texan cheerleader tried to file charges against a fellow student who sexually assaulted her at a party. The school ignored her accusations, and told her to simply avoid socializing with the boy. The girl refused to root for the student during his football games, and ended up being kicked off the cheerleading team. When her parents sued for violation of free speech, they were turned away on the grounds that as a cheerleader, the school was in charge of her speech. Eventually, the girl managed to press charges, although her assaulter only landed probation, a fine, community service, and an anger management class.

9. Virginia Thomas, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ wife, called Anita Hill and left a message on her university answering machine asking for an apology over a sexual harassment case from almost 20 years ago. In 1991, Hill testified in court before Thomas’ admitted that he had made sexual comments to her, including explicating porn films. Here is Thomas’ message to Hill: “Good morning Anita Hill, it’s Ginni Thomas. I just wanted to reach across the airwaves and the years and ask you to consider something. I would love you to consider an apology sometime and some full explanation of why you did what you did with my husband,” the voice said. “So give it some thought. And certainly pray about this and hope that one day you will help us understand why you did what you did. O.K., have a good day.” Hill responded, telling The New York Times, “[Virginia Thomas] can’t ask for an apology without suggesting that I did something wrong, and that is offensive.”

10. A Wisconsan woman defended herself against accusations of disorderly conduct by faking pregnancy. She claims that she stripped down to the waist outside of a bar because she was about to give birth. She was rushed to the hospital after police found her on the ground, screaming “get it out.” Hospital staff determined that she was not pregnant, and she was arrested for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
