Men’s Swimming Goes for First Conference win at F&M

The Shoremen fell to Salisbury 135-70 in non-conference action.

Junior Austin Auger won two events: the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:22.84 and the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:10.30.   Sophomore A.J. Feurer added points for the Shoremen with a first place finish in the 800 meter freestyle.  Senior Matt Violette came in second in the 200 meter freestyle and the 100 meter butterfly.  Adding two more second place finishes were Junior Nick Longworth in the 100 backstroke, and freshman Rob Mix in the 200 individual medley behind Auger.  Salisbury’s win was the first in 19 meets during the 1990-91 season.

On Nov. 12 the Shoremen met St. Mary’s College. St. Mary’s was able to claim the win 118-85. This time around, Longworth won the 100 backstroke in 56.58.  Mix, Senior Tim Beadell, Junior Austin Auger and Longworth won the 200-medley relay in 1:45.02.  Though Auger came in second in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, he finished in Washington College season-best times for both events.  Junior Ross mills added a second place finish in the 100 butterfly, as Feurer took second in the long distance 1000 meter free.  Violette took second in the 200 individual medley.

The Shoremen are in action at Franklin & Marshall tonight at 6 p.m.
