In her first season coaching at Washington College, Coach Megan Duran guided the Shorewomen to eight wins in their first nine games, the team’s best-ever start. The following season, she led the Shorewomen to their highest Centennial Conference win total in nine years. This season, she hopes to further continue that success on the court.
What do you expect from the returning players?
“We return three players and they are our three leading scorers from last season. I expect our returning three players to lead, help, and guide our young team to great things this year. They are already doing that in practice and will continue to do these things throughout the year for our team.”
What talent do the new girls bring to your team?
“The new players bring a wealth of talent to our team. They continue to work hard everyday and we are watching them grow everyday.”
What are your thoughts on the 2010-2011 season?
“I think the 2010-2011 season is going to be one of my favorite seasons here because we have a unique dynamic with lots of history to make.”
The Shorewomen open their season on Nov 16 with a game at Wesley College. The team then heads to the Stevens Tip-Off Tournament that weekend, facing Alvernia in the first round. Conference play begins Nov 30 at Johns Hopkins, while the Shorewomen’s home opener is set for Dec 2 against Haverford.
