Q: Where are you from, and what are you studying here at WC?
A: I’m from Emmaus, Pa. I’m an International Studies major with a concentration in Peace and Conflict Studies. I also have a minor in German Studies.

Q: What is your favorite thing about WC?
A: My favorite thing about WC is how much one student can involve themselves. By that I mean you’re not limited to one group or activity. Everyone has the ability to explore a number of fields.

Q: Where is your favorite place to hang out on campus?
A: It would have to be the front of the library. It’s the nerve center of the school and you get to see a lot of people pass by. It’s relaxing, but you can still get a lot of studying done.

Q: Why did you decide to run for SGA president?
A: Initially, I was approached by some people asking me to. I have a lot of experience dealing with students and with administration, and I have a lot of skills to help the student body. So I thought about it and decided I would make that sacrifice. I felt I owed something to the school and wanted to give back.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish in your position?
A: Two major goals. One would be to get a student voting spot on the Board of Visitors and Governors. The other would be to get a student position in the Office of Student Activities.

Q: Lastly, is there anything else you’d like campus to know?
A: The largest thing you can do for yourself and for Washington College is to get involved. That’s what a liberal arts education is. It’s about improving who you are as a person and learning in every way you can.

Q: What is your class year and major/minor?
A: I am a sophomore, class of 2014, Business Management Major and Spanish Minor, and I’m from Virginia.

Q: Are you in any clubs beside SGA?
A: I am the Junior Achievement Project Manager in SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise), a Junior Fellow in the Cater Society and a member of the Spanish Club and Campus Christian Fellowship. I am also an admissions aide and tour guide, and a member of the WC swim team and crew team.

Q: What is your favorite place to hang out on campus and why?
A: My favorite place to hang out on campus is the kitchen in Chester, because I love to bake and cook. Whenever I have free time or need to de-stress, I bring all of my cooking supplies down the hall to the kitchen and whip something up to share with my friends and classmates.

Q: If you could have dinner with any two people, living or dead, who would you choose and why?
A: One person I would like to have dinner with is my granddad. He passed away this summer, before I fully understood what a wise, brilliant, and talented man he was. I would give anything to have the chance to ask him all about his life experiences.
The second person I would like to have dinner with is Julia Child; I would actually prefer to have the opportunity to assist her in making our dinner. Her perseverance and determination both in and out of the kitchen are an inspiration to try new things without the fear of being knocked down or rejected.

Q: Do you have anything else you’d like the WC community to know about you?
A: I would love to get feedback from any member of the WC community on his or her questions, comments, concerns or ideas for improving Washington College. Please contact me any time via email, Facebook, or when you see me around campus!
