School is back in session. Fall sports, however, have been back at it for more than a week now. With the whirlwind of classes beginning and the school-year getting into full swing, it can be hard to keep up with what is going on in the world of sports. So, The Elm is giving you this quick look at the four earliest starting fall sports and their key stats heading into the year.
Field Hockey
2011 Record: 10-8 (6-4 Centennial Conference)

Extra note: The Shorewomen made the Centennial Conference Playoffs in 2011 and barely lost to Haverford in a heartbreaking 3-2 loss in the first round.
Volleyball

Extra note: The Shoremen have won their season-opener the past two seasons. They won 1-0 over Randolph Macon College last season and beat Penn State Brandywine 7-0 in 2010.

Extra note: New coach Kanute Drugan has the 27th most wins in Division III soccer (229 wins). He was also the NIIC’s Coach of the Year four times and the NAC’s Coach of the Year three times while at Aurora University in Illinois.
