There was no stopping Jenny Lee, and thus no stopping the Shorewomen. Wesley College wished they never hosted the Lee-led WC in a matchup this past Sunday afternoon, as the Shorewomen dominated in a 3-0 route.
Senior middle-hitter Lee registered 12 kills, five service aces and three blocks in win. The impressive performance helped propel her to be named washingtoncollegesports.com “Shorewoman of the Week.”
The first set of the day was the closest at 27-25, but Lee helped WC get the win with two straight kills to end the set. The second and third sets were not as close, with scores of 25-17 and 25-21, respectively.
The second set did provide a few bumps with the Shorewomen trailing by as many as five points, but they rallied with a 15-2 run to clinch the set. Another Lee, this time freshman outside hitter Kristen Lee, ended the third and final set with a kill that gave WC a convincing win.
Freshman setter Jesse Sengstecke led all players with 26 assists and Kaitlin Rowan added 10 digs.
It should come as no surprise WC won with such ease. The Shorewomen have never lost to the Wolverines of Wesley since they began playing in 2005—they are a perfect 10-0 and have won 30 of 31 sets.
