There was never much of a doubt this past Wednesday when the Shorewomen volleyball team took on the Ursinus Bears at home. WC hit a stellar .308 as a team and comfortably earned the win 25-16, 25-19, 25-17.
The Shorewomen have won three conference matches this season (Ursinus, Gettysburg and Bryn Mawr), the first time they have done so since 2004.
The second set of the match was perhaps the closest. At one point, it was tied at 17-apiece before WC went on a five point run to open a 22-17 gap.
The star of the day was freshman outside hitter Kristen Lee, who registered her 10th double-double of the year. Lee tallied a match-high 12 kills, 11 digs and zero errors. The Shorewomen’s other star named Lee, senior middle hitter Jenny Lee, picked up ten kills in the win, including the winner in the third set. Junior setter Lauren White led all players with 34 assists in the match as well.
The match was WC’s last one at home until Senior Day, which is this Sat. Oct. 27 against McDaniel. The match has double importance, being Senior Day and a critical Centennial Conference matchup.
