Crush Wheaton College 14-7 and keep their undefeated record intact? Check. Catch a few rays while everyone else was freezing in Maryland? Check. Experience Harry Potter World with all your teammates? Check.

The Washington College women’s lacrosse team spent a few days in Florida over spring break, and was able to enjoy some sun, team bonding, and a little bit of lacrosse as well.

While in Florida, the team visited Harry Potter World, enjoyed several team meals together and of course – got a tan. They were faced with a dilemma when they found the pool to be too shady for their liking, so they did what anyone in their shoes would have done – laid out in the parking lot. (Hey – gotta do what ya gotta do.)
The team took on Wheaton College (MA) at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida, defeating the Lyons 14-7 in a non-conference matchup.

Senior midfielder Marissa Restaino had a stellar day on offense, netting a hat trick for the Shorewomen. Perhaps her performance was due to the fact that her grandparents were the sole WC fans in the stands. They were also vacationing in Florida, and came out to show support.

Sophomore Emily Hubely had another strong performance for WC all over the field, leading the team in scoring with five goals and three assists. Hubely’s performance landed her the honor of Shorewoman of the Week on washingtoncollegesports.com.
Junior Carley Eisenbrandt also chipped in three goals, and senior Mollie Shipley added three assists. Junior Meredith Callis led the defense in holding Wheaton College to seven goals on 15 shots.

The Shorewoman improved to 5-0 with their performance down south, and look to continue their winning ways against Elizabethtown on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and away at Drew University (New Jersey) on Saturday.
