The men’s and women’s basketball teams took advantage of the winter break to do some team bonding. The Shorewomen attended a University of Maryland women’s basketball game, while the men’s team took a trip to Florida to compete in a national tournament.
The Shoremen’s visit to Fort Lauderdale was centered around the tournament, but a variety of fun activities were included into the trip. “We had a day at the beach on the first day, and after a big win on Dec. 20, the Del Castillo family hosted a terrific party at their house where the team and their friends and families were invited.  It was a great close to the trip,” said Head Coach Aaron Goodman.
Rewarding players with trips such as this one is critical to Coach Goodman. He said, “It is important to give our student-athletes a first-class experience.  They work very hard in balancing academics and athletics, and it is essential to reward them with lifetime bonding opportunities with their teammates they will never forget.”
Women’s basketball’s trip took a break from a busy game schedule, and spent quality time together. Head Women’s Basketball Coach Alisha Mosley said, “This team really enjoys each other’s company and it shows this season on the basketball court. Team chemistry is a big part of the success of any team and I hope we continue to grow.” Strong relationships off the court help players rely on eacother on the court.
“From the response of the girls I believe we accomplished our goal of having a good time,” said Coach Mosley. The Shorewomen had a few team dinners at local restaurants over the course of the break, including dinners with the men’s team.
Both teams did a terrific job of bonding outside of the gym over break. As the new semester begins, they look forward to playing together and growing together as teams.
