Kat Vincent’s Historic Legacy

Senior women’s lacrosse attacker Kat Vincent is determined to lead her team to successful postseason. Her finesse in regular season play has won her 2016 All-Centennial Conference first team, Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Fast Break Division III Offensive Player of the Week, 4x Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, 4x Shorewoman of the Week, made a school record of Single-Season Free-Position Goals with 19 in 2016.
According to new assistant coach Julie Morse, “Kat is a great player with an unbelievable ability to get to cage and finish. Throughout the season, she’s become a true leader on the offensive end. She settles the offense, finds her teammates when needed, and puts the extra effort on the redefend. The team definitely thrives off her energy.”
Vincent does not take all the credit for her immense success.
“My coaches have shared their knowledge of the game and have given me all the tools I have needed to succeed. My teammates have pushed me to be my absolute best every single day, and that to me is just as valuable as any of the honors I have received,” she said.
Morse appreciates Vincent’s contributions to the team, especially on the offensive end.

“Kat has the ability to make big plays. She gets possession off of draws, creates turnovers in the midfield, and can finish,” Morse said. “She is really just a huge spark for our offense.”
She has high expectations for Kat to continue to lead the team on and off the field.
“I expect Kat to continue to do what she’s doing. She’s doing a great job of staying composed when defenses are throwing different things at her,” she said. “She’s been working hard to effect the game in other ways than just scoring.”
Kat’s ability to work with her team effectively and score early and often has placed her at the top of the Centennial Conference. Her ultimate goal is to play in the NCAA final tournament wither her team, surpassing Gettysburg and Franklin and Marshall for the first time in her career at WC.
“Winning the semi-final game and getting the opportunity to play in the conference final and have the chance to beat a team that has consistently ended our season one game earlier would be awesome. Getting the opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament for the first time is also an experience I would love to have,” she said.
Vincent’s impressive stats and striking ability to get the ball to the cage are paired with her plan to graduate with a major in Human Development and pursue a career in Elementary Education after her time at WC.
So far this season, Vincent has scored 49 goals while giving out 15 assists in 12 games. In total, she has posted 64 points. Last season, Vincent scored 48 goals while giving out 25 assists with 107 points.
Vincent looks to lead WC on Saturday, April 22 when #9 Franklin and Marshall visits for a 3 p.m. showdown.
