As Halloween grows closer, I want to take a moment to honor the local heroes who make last minute costume hunting all the more possible. This week’s hero is the staff at Nearly New, Chestertown’s own vintage charity shop.
Are you looking for an affordable place to pick up gently used clothing items for your Halloween getup? Look no further than Nearly New, located in downtown Chestertown on High Street. Small but mighty, this store has everything a Halloween costume could ask for, from vintage jewelry, to ‘80s bomber jackets, to sweaters that say “My Grandkids are the apples of my eye.”
Nearly New is run by the University of Maryland Shore Center and its proceeds go to the running of that center.
As you make the last adjustments to your scariest Halloween costume to date, be sure to thank the people who make it all possible. Especially if they, like those at Nearly New, are volunteers using their time to brighten our days and make a difference for a local hospital.
