If you are lucky, you may encounter someone whose presence in your life blesses you. Perhaps it was destiny, a past life, or divine intervention that prompted your paths to cross, and you are grateful they are with you because of all the love they bring. Miracle, this week’s Pet of the Week, is such a twist of fate.

Miracle is a seven-month-old pit bull mix. She was found on the side of the road with injuries from what is believed to be the result of being thrown from a moving car. Luckily, they were all superficial, and a few scabs and missing toenails do not hold this girl back. Miracle is a bundle of heavenly joy. Her pure white coat is sleek and velvety, and her yellow eyes are bright. She has adorable little tawny freckles on her ears and the tip of her muzzle.

Despite her trauma, Miracle has lost none of the energy that is typical for a young dog. One moment she will be cuddling in your lap and chewing your fingers, and the next she will leap up, all four paws leaving the ground, and start zooming around. She has taken a shine to the water buckets in the playpen and likes to stick her face, chest, and front legs all the way in and splash around. She is also starting to get terribly excited about tennis balls.

Miracle is a young dog with a lot to learn. While this means she would find an ideal owner in someone who could continue her training while supporting the needs of her youth, it also offers some flexibility in her forever home. She loves people of all ages and other dogs. She would love a canine or human sibling to play with and burn off some of her puppy energy.

This beautiful young soul is true to her name. Her life could have ended on the side of the road in an act of cruelty, but it did not. She has a lot of love to offer the world, and she cannot wait to bless her forever family with her divine presence.

Formerly a resident of the Animal Care Shelter of Kent County, as of Sept. 5, Miracle has been transferred to Montgomery County Humane Society. If you are interested in adopting her, you can call 240-252-2555 or visit in-person at 601 S. Stonestreet Ave., Rockville, MD.
