This hero of the week is the Career Center and its dedicated staff members.
Throughout the year, the staff interacts with students, faculty, and outside connections in order to provide the Washington College community networking opportunities within and beyond Chestertown. They do this by holding workshops ranging in topics from resume building to LinkedIn profiles, mock-interviews to one-on-one appointments.
While it is easy to groan at the fact that student workers are required to attend one career building workshop a semester in order to continue their on-campus jobs, these staff members organize the workshops and invite guest speakers that are accessible to this academically diverse student population.
If you are looking for job or internship opportunities, the Career Center staff will work with you to provide constructive and helpful feedback. If you are stuck, they will even find some possible internship opportunities if your academic department is not well-represented.
