Hero of the Week: Kohl Gallery

This hero of the week is also a call for students to snatch a last glance at the most recent art exhibit: Sign Systems. The gallery will strike this exhibit after Dec. 7.

The Kohl Gallery can be found within the Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Arts.

According to the Washington College website, the Kohl Gallery fosters the understanding and synthesis of art by providing a range of exhibitions and programs for both the college and Chestertown community members. These exhibitions show perspectives of both historical and contemporary art to discuss significant topics throughout the community.

Often a hidden corner of campus, the gallery provides a quiet place for students to take a breath outside of academic work and an opportunity to just stare at beautiful and intriguing artwork.

With classes finishing up, this is the time for students to step away and mentally prepare for the whirlwind that is finals season.

Admission is free to any visitor.

The gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from noon – 4 p.m.
