Sophomore captain Sammy DiLoreto finished the tournament as the top-ranking female at Sudlersville Skeet Club

On Sunday, Feb. 9, the Washington College Trap and Skeet team won their dual competition. Over Merchant Marine Academy, WC emerged victorious in both the American Trap and Skeet portions of the competition. The final score was 879-747.
The team hit 879 of the 1000 targets and were rewarded for their success by dominating that week’s Shoreman and Shorewoman of the week titles.
WC’s freshman Gregory Carpenter was honored as the Shoremen of the week. Carpenter hails from Middletown, Ohio, and was not only the High Overall winner of the competitions but also the American Skeet by just one target. He also broke 183 targets having the most out of all the competitors in Sunday’s win.
The honor of Shorewoman of the week was given to sophomore captain Sammy DiLerto, who hails from Harleysville, Pa. and was the top scoring woman of the competition.
She finished 11th place in the HOA standing and broke her own personal record. This is DiLerto’s second Shorewoman of the week title in her WC career. She outshown her competitors, being the top female finisher and broke 153 targets total.
Other highlights include senior Camerin Caraballo from Bloomingdale, NJ, who placed 5th in the overall standings and placed second in American Skeet. Sophomore Will Sears was also second in overall standings and placed fourth in American WC Trap and Skeet team.
The WC Trap and Skeet team will next compete in the Blue Hen Classic in Wilmington, De on Saturday, Feb. 29.
