Washington College Trap and Skeet ends their season with a victory

The Shoremen take on Delaware and George Mason in their last home invitational of 2020

The Washington College Trap and Skeet events of the season ended with two wins against both George Mason and Delaware on Sunday, March 7. The Shoremen were able to place in the top five, and junior Nathaniel Neuland  took the overall high score in the shoot.

Neuland had 174 targets and won the doubles trap and doubles skeet. In addition, he placed fourth in the trap shoot out.

Freshman Greg Carpenter placed second with 169 targets in doubles trap and doubles skeet. Carpenter also placed fifth in singles trap and singles skeet.

Senior Jordan Ukishima was also able to garner significant titles and placements at the Delaware Invitational as he placed third with 167 targets. Ukishima also placed third in doubles skeet and second in trap and skeet.

Junior Camerin Caraballo won the entirety of the skeet event to lead all players with the highest number of targets hit at 49.

The WC Trap and Skeet defeated George Mason with an overall score of 183-168 edging the Patriots out by a small margin.

Neuland stood out with a high score of 41 targets and freshman Carter Weems with the second highest score of 37 in the home doubles trap event.

The Shoremen also beat George Mason in team skeet with a final score of 231-194.  Neuland again being the high scorer of 46 targets with Carpenter following with 45.

The WCTS team finished with a final score of 217-194 victory in the team trap.

The young team will not be graduating any seniors this season, although they are still deeply saddened by the abrupt end to their remaining season due to the COVID-19 outbreak that has effectively ended all NCAA Division III sports nationwide.
