Washington College has allowed students back on campus with the continuation of remote learning, WC has also permitted athletics to practice and compete.
Like regular students, student-athletes will have to quarantine for 12-14 days before being allowed to use on-campus facilities like the Johnson Fitness Center, the Cain Gymnasium, and the Kibler Field.
A majority of teams are still awaiting official game schedules but have been approved to practice together after quarantining.
WC’s women’s soccer team will begin practicing Feb. 15 three to four times a week. The team will be weightlifting on campus three times a week. They currently have four official games scheduled against St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Stevenson University, McDaniel College, and Salisbury University.
The men’s soccer team will also begin practicing three times a week and lifting two days a week. Currently, the men’s team has no official games scheduled.
The WC volleyball team will practice four times a week beginning on Feb. 16. Their weight lifting schedule is still up in the air as well as their game schedule.
The field hockey team have completed their quarantine and have been practicing three times a week with no weight lifting. They have games scheduled against Salisbury University, John Hopkins University, McDaniel College, and Stevenson University.
Both WC men’s and women’s tennis teams have been practicing four to six days a week and will begin weight lifting this coming Monday, Feb. 16. No official games have been scheduled yet.
WC’s women’s basketball team has been practicing five days a week with minimal weight lifting. They currently have two official games scheduled against Bryan Athyn College.
The men’s basketball team has begun practicing five to six days a week. They have been weightlifting four days a week. No games have been officially scheduled.
The men’s lacrosse team at WC has been practicing six days a week while also weightlifting three times a week. They currently have three official games scheduled against Randolph Macon College, St. Mary’s College, and Salisbury University.
WC’s women’s lacrosse team has been practicing five days a week and have been weightlifting three times a week. They have five official games scheduled against St. Mary’s College, Salisbury University, Randolph Macon College, Shenandoah College, and Christopher Newport University.
Both of WC men’s and women’s swimming teams have been practicing five days a week. They weight lift as much as they can according to their class schedules. They have no meets scheduled, but are trying to pursue virtual meets with other teams.
The WC baseball team has been practicing in small groups daily and weightlifting four times a week. They have no official games scheduled.
The WC softball team is also practicing in small groups almost every day and weightlifting three times a week. There are no official games scheduled yet.
WC watersports, including rowing and sailing, will be practicing four to five times a week. They will be weightlifting three days a week. Both teams have no official games scheduled.
The trap and skeet team is still working out practice, weightlifting, and game schedules.
