On Saturday, March 27, the Washington College Shoremen beat the McDaniel Green Terrors with a final score of 13–4. This is the 21st straight win against the Green Terrors for the Shoremen.
This was completed with scores from sophomore Brady McFalls, junior captain Ewan Temple, senior captain Joe Maimone, sophomore Logan Clefisch, senior captain Charlie Wittich, and sophomore Kain Domenech.
Senior captain Chris Del Rosario only allowed three goals and had eight saves in the goal during this game. Sophomore Robert Eignerauch went in to have one save and one goal allowed, and sophomore Cole Corrigan had zero goals allowed and one save.
Maimone had a career high of five ground balls and senior Joey Sivo won 12 of the 17 faceoffs.
Junior captain Kyle Gittelman was also selected as the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance during this game.
“We were able to command a dominating lead for all of the game and able to mix and match players to see how they work together going forward,” Temple said. “It was amazing to finally play in a Conference game.”
The Shoreman now have a record of 1–0 in the Conference and an overall record of 2–1.
The Shoremen were supposed to play the Ursinus Bears on April 1, but was postponed to April 7. The Shoremen’s next game after that will take place on Saturday, April 17 at the Kibler Field against Franklin and Marshall College.
On March 27, the WC women’s lacrosse team took a clear win against the Mcdaniel Green Terrors with a score of 17–0.
Scorers for the game were junior Colleen Keefe, junior Olivia Miller, senior captain Anna Bennett, junior Sydney Allender, freshman Morgan Sutherland, and sophomore Ellie Morall.
Both Keefe, Morall and Miller had career highs and bests in this game.
Sophomore Sydney Wingate had a total of eight saves and allowed zero goals with three ground balls.
Wingate was also chosen for Shorewoman of the Week and the Centennial Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week for her performance during this game.
This game extends the Shorewomen’s win streak to eleven straight games against the Green Terrors.
On April 2, the Shorewomen beat the Ursinus Bears with a score of 18–3.
Scorers in this game included Keefe, freshman Ashley Devlin, Miller, Bennett, and Sutherland.
During this game, Keefe beat her own career high and put her new career best at seven goals, and three assists. There were also personal bests for Devlin with three goals and six assists as well as Miller with three goals.
Wingate has six saves this game with three goals allowed and two ground balls. Senior captain Meghan Dean also had a high of four ground balls.
After beating the Green Terrors, the Shoremen now have a record of 3–2. They will face the Franklin and Marshall Diplomats on the Kibler Field next on Saturday, April 17.
