SGA Minutes – 2.1.22

1. Administrative remarks were made by Assistant Director of Residential Life Devin Spinks. Mentions included recruitment for Residential Assistants and notifications concerning the planned installation of kitchen appliances in Caroline House.

2. The motions to open discussion on allotting $200 to the Student Environmental Alliance and to Sigma Delta Phi were approved. This allotment will be used for their collaborative event hosting guest speaker University of Maryland Director of the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Center and an Associate Professor of the Department of Government and Politics Dr. Isabella Alcañiz.

3. The motion to open discussion to allocate $100 to Phi Delta Theta for events during the fraternity’s recruitment week was passed. This allocation was approved for informal rush. 

4. The motion to open discussion to allocate $117 to STEM Sisters was approved. This allotment will be used for running their interest meeting and networking event.

5. Students are encouraged to use Terracycle boxes to recycle materials that otherwise cannot be recycled in Kent County, such as single-use packaging and plastic. Check your dorm building’s laundry room to see if a box has been installed. 6. The College also has access to the telecounseling service Mantra Health. All students are entitled to six free sessions.
