Transportation Update

For the remainder of the 2021-22 academic year and beyond, Washington College students will see updates made at Transportation Services.

According to the email sent from the Office of Student Affairs on Feb. 10, starting with the 2022 spring semester, the College — as part of their recent partnership with American Limousines — will “provide shuttle services to and from campus at the beginning and end of each semester,” at no additional cost to students.

Additionally, American Limo will offer transportation “before and after [the] standard breaks,” including fall, Thanksgiving, and spring breaks, according to the email. But, as of Feb. 10, students must pay an additional fee to use these in-semester shuttle services.

“The College will subsidize a portion of the costs in order to ensure the service remains affordable,” the email said. “Students are not required to depart campus during these in-semester breaks, so travel during these time periods is optional.”

For students looking to reserve seats for the upcoming spring break shuttle services, they must pay the required $20 one-way fee for the following locations: Baltimore/Washington, D.C. International Thurgood Marshall Airport; Wilmington Train Station in Wilmington, De.; Philadelphia Airport in Philadelphia, Pa.; and New Carrollton Train Station. The fee will be charged directly to the students’ accounts.

According to the email, the sign-up process to reserve a seat on the available spring break shuttles will be similar to those at the beginning and end of the semester. To secure a seat, students must email washcoll@amerlimo.com with their name and WC ID number included in the subject line. In the body of the email, students are required to include the following information: their full name; student ID number; date of the shuttle they would like to reserve; pick-up location — and airline and flight number, if relevant — and their cell phone number.

If any changes should occur regarding pickup times, American Limo will contact all students directly. Students should refer any questions to (410) 522-0400.
