The 84th annual Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Club took place on Sunday, April 24, in Boston, Ma. on the Charles River. The race was hosted by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
With 90 points, the WC sailors placed 12th in Division A. Gurnell skippered the boat with junior Emma Macturk as crew. Heim, skipper, and Kennedy Jones, crew, placed 15th in Division B with 134 points. Roger Williams won first again for the B Division. In Division C, freshman Joseph Bonacci served as skipper and sophomore Megan Callis acted as crew to earn a place at 15th with 132 points. The WC sailors placed 15th overall in the race. They acquired 356 points with all races combined. Roger Williams placed first with 121 points and Harvard closely followed in second with 141 points.
The Shoremen and Shorewomen will participate in the American Trophy, hosted by Princeton University, in Kings Point, N.Y. over the weekend of April 30 to May 1. This will be the final regular-season race for the WC sailors.
