1. Administrative remarks were made by Washington College Dean of Students and Title IX Coordinator Greg Krikorian. Topics discussed included changes to the Title IX process and policy.
2. Motion to swear in the new Student Government Association President senior Alex May and Honor Board Chair junior Gage Mandrell was passed. Both May and Mandrell were sworn in.
3. Motion to open discussion on the Resolution to Increase the Discretionary Budget Cap for the spring 2022 semester was passed. There was an increase in budget activity over the past semesters, as well as a lot of discretionary requests submitted in spring 2022, indicating that clubs are being more active and are actually using the funds. The current financial status of the SGA funds is healthy and can handle the increase of the discretionary budget cap.
4. Motion to open discussion on The Society of Physics Students becoming a club was passed. It is a nationwide organization; this one is a chapter at Washington College. This club will provide opportunities for students, study sessions, attending physics conventions, etc.
5. Motion to open discussion on Disc Golf Club becoming an SIG was passed.
6. Diversity faculty committee is open to all senators to sit on the committee with the faculty. Reach out to SGA Secretary of Diversity and Inclusion sophomore Hailey Sutton if you are interested.
7. Water bottle refill station in Goldstein is now fixed. SGA Secretary of the Environment junior Kevin Denice and his committee are working on fixing the rest of them.
8. Director of Student Engagement Antoine Jordan ’12 is looking for people to help with the clean-up for Birthday Ball. Please reach out if you would like to volunteer.
9. Dining Hall TVs will now be used for club events advertisements. Email SGA Vice President junior Jonah Nicholson at jnicholson3@washcoll.edu with your flyer and how long you need to be there. These first weeks will be trial weeks.
10. There are chickens on campus in Campus Garden. There is a chicken council looking for volunteers to help maintain the chickens. If you are interested, contact sophomore Hannah Perkins at hperkins2@washcoll.edu.
