Ranked as one of the most beautiful towns in Maryland according to Culture Trip, there is no denying that Chestertown is a picturesque place to celebrate any special occasion, and with Valentine’s Daycoming up, there is no better place to be.

Here are just a few of the ways to make your Valentine’s Day special in town.

Stop by the local florist, Bloomin’ Wild Flowers

While these flowers might cost more than standard flowers at the grocery store, the intricate bouquets arranged by the staff at Bloomin’ Wild Flowers will blow your partner away.

Customers have the option to create their own bouquets, but if they are unsure where to begin, the staff is experienced can craft a beautiful floral arrangement to suit your needs.

If your partner is not a fan of flowers, the store offers succulents and houseplants, as well as special packages that include lotion, stuffed animals, and chocolate.

Get lost in Twigs and Teacups

After re-opening its doors in October following year-long a renovation, Twigs and Teacups offers a variety of gifts, including candles, books, cookware, and cards. With its cozy atmosphere, bright colors, and quirky wares, the store feels like a dose of Wonderland on the Eastern Shore.

It is no surprise that this place is the heart of Chestertown, especially when Jonathan and Elsa, the store’s resident cat, meets you at the door. Even if you are not buying gifts for each other, this is the perfect store to explore with a partner or your friends.

Find some unique treats at Bespoke Chocolate Factory

Located on Cross Street, this store has a variety of affordable sweets to share. The shop offers homemade candies, fudge, and filled chocolates.

If you are looking for a gift for a loved one, the shop also offers an array of Valentine’s Day items, including hot chocolates, heart-shaped gift boxes, and chocolate body paint.

Pick out books for each other at The Bookplate

This used bookstore has it all — poetry, advice columns, young adult, history, cooking. Find a book that reminds you of your partner to give as a sweet treat, or you relax with a book as you befriend Kiki, the store’s resident cat.

Eat lunch at Stam’s Luncheonette

Take a step back in time at this vintage-inspired Chestertown ice cream parlor. Patrons can order from a variety of unique ice cream flavors, like cinnamon basil and chocolate raspberry, while sipping on house-made sodas; make sure to get two spoons to share.

Spend time in an unexpected spot

Seamans Griswold Environmental Hall is one of the most underrated spots on the Washington College campus.

Bundle up for a quick walk through town to sit at the academic building and watch the ships pass by, or explore the many natural sights around the waterfront.
