“Daisy Jones and the Six,” the television series based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s massively popular novel, was released on Amazon Prime on March 3.

The New York Times best selling novel is based on a fictional rock and roll band that is loosely inspired by Fleetwood Mac, according to previous Elm coverage.

The series follows rising singer Daisy Jones as her career collides with The Dunne Brothers, a rock band lead by Billy Dunne. As they reach the peak of their fame, Daisy Jones  and Billy risk their music careers to chase the high of their affair.

Since the release of the series, it has quickly become a fan favorite due to its talented cast, original score, and the unforgettable vintage-inspired costume design.

“Many of the clothes sourced were vintage discoveries, rentals, or hand-created treasures designed for the show,” Denise Wingate, costume designer of “Daisy Jones and the Six,” said in an interview with Elle Magazine.

The show’s popularity comes on the back of a resurgence of 1970s style on social media.

According to WhoWhatWear, over the past two years, young people have increasingly embraced style from this era, including psychedelic prints, cowboy boots, and shimmery makeup looks.

To emulate the 1970s, here are a few fashion essentials you need to channel your inner Daisy Jones.

Cowboy boots and denim cut-offs perfectly embody the laid-back hippie vibe of the decade.

When paired with a flowy, sheer wrap, these items encapsulate the look that Daisy wears during the fourth episode of the show, “Track 4: I Saw The Light.”

Denim should be your new best friend. Because the fabric is so versatile, there are a number of ways it can be worn in order to capture a vintage feeling.

According to WhoWhatWear, denim-on-denim looks, like jeans paired with a jacket or a denim corset worn with a skirt, are one of the biggest trends of spring. While the “Canadian tuxedo” might be out of people’s comfort zones, it was worn frequently during the 1970s. To mix up the look, try pairing different washes of denim with each other.

If you want to keep your denim simple, another staple look of Daisy Jones is a pair of straight-leg jeans worn with a simple white tank top.

If you watched the 2000s classic “Almost Famous” you will recognize the infamous Penny Lane jackets with signature fur lined lapels and a suede outer layer. These coats — sometimes called Afghan jackets — can be easily paired with basics to elevate the look.

While Daisy is a lead character in the series, there is a host of supporting female characters, each with their own distinct style.

Camilla Dunne, wife to Billy Dunne, the band’s fictional founder, is often seen is peasant blouses, statement sunglasses, and floral print. Additionally, she is frequently seen wearing maxi dresses, which are easy to style for the upcoming summer heat.

Karen Sirko, the band’s keyboardist, has the ideal style for cooler spring days. She is often seen in fitted turtlenecks and flared jeans, both of which are basics that can be adapted to a number of different styles.

Soul singer and Daisy’s best friend, Simone Jackson, has one of the most unique styles of the show. Throughout the series, she wears an abundance of statement jewelry pieces, as well as cropped shirts decorated with metallic clasps and fringe. While these looks might be difficult to find in your own closet, her outfits are great inspirations for your next trip to the thrift store.

For anyone looking to shop these iconic looks, both Amazon and Free People have capsule collections to tailor to anyone’s budget. Additionally, you can shop at vintage stores in order to achieve an authentic, sustainable feel in your wardrobe.
