Volleyball shuts out three opponents in last four games

Washington College volleyball played four games in the past two weeks against the McDaniel College Green Terror, the Albright College Lions, the Haverford College Black Squirrels, and the Ursinus College Bears.

In their game against the Green Terror on Oct. 4, the Shorewomen won three straight sets to take the game.

Junior outside hitter Lindsay Saddic lead the team in kills with eight, closely followed by senior outside hitter Angelina Schaber.

Sophomore outside hitter Giselle Kleinbussink recorded 12 digs, leading the team.

The Shorewomen’s next game against Albright College on Oct. 7 was their eighth ever meeting. The team won in three straight sets again.

Kleinbussink and Schaber led the team in kills, with 12 and 11 recorded respectively. Sophomore setter Allison McKetchnie led digs this game with 14.

The Shorewomen’s only loss in this stretch came from Haverford in a close matchup of three sets to two sets.

Kleinbussink again led in kills, recording a total of 17, while McKetchnie led in assists with 22, and sophomore libero Victoria Kile led in digs with 21.

The team’s final game was against the Ursinus Bears, and was another dominant 3-0 win for the Shorewomen.

Kleinbussink had 11 kills this game coupled with 11 digs. Freshman setter Reagan Moran had 15 assists, two of which went to Kleinbussink.

The Shorewomen’s next game is away against Dickinson College on Oct. 21.
