On Wednesday, Sept. 27, the Shorewomen traveled to Marymount University. The first half started off slow with five shots from the Shorewomen, one of which being saved by the goalkeeper.

WC had an unbreakable defense and did not let the Saints attempt a single shot on goal during the half.

During the second half, freshman midfielder Kaileigh Brady fired an impressive shot on goal but was still unable to make it past the Saint’s goalkeeper. In the end, neither team was able to break the draw earning a score of 0-0.

The next game of the season was at home against the Ursinus Bears on Saturday, September 30. During the first half, junior forward Reagan Longridge and senior midfielder Grace Kelly took two consecutive shots on Ursinus, but both were snagged by the Bears’ goalkeeper.

Their keeper saved three more shots before the half, with 21 shots racked up by the end of the game, not a single one was able to make it through to the net and the score ended in another 0-0 tie.

“We connected really well with our passing and had a great energy on the field,” freshman Audrey MacNair said.

It was clear who had control of the game, “we won all of the 50/50s” freshman forward Sophie Kilbride said. The Shorewomen had plenty of aggression and determination, but they struggled to find the back of the net during both games.

Senior forward Audrey Flanagan was named GooseNationTV player of the game on Saturday with eight stellar shots, setting a new team-high for the season. This week brings their record to 4-2-3.

2-2. The women’s soccer team has their next home game on Saturday, Oct. 7, against the Haverford College Black Squirrels. This game will be their Alumni Appreciation Day.
