The budget cycle for the Spring 2024 semester opened on Wednesday, Oct. 25, allowing on-campus clubs and organizations the opportunity to request funding for next semester through the Student Government Association.

The current deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Nov. 15 at midnight. This timing leaves students with 21 days to format their budgets.

The SGA sent out an email with general information about the cycle on the evening that it opened. According to the communication, any organization with a budget over $1,500 must set up a meeting with SGA Financial Controller and Elm Sports Editor junior Jack Poleto and the Budget Committee.

Those conversations will occur immediately before Thanksgiving Break from Thursday, Nov. 16 to Wednesday, Nov. 22.

All clubs were also required to send a representative to one of three scheduled budget workshops, which “help organizations submit budgets best fit for approval,” according to the email. The presentations took place on Oct. 30, Nov. 2, and Nov. 8.

If clubs were unable to attend one of the workshops, they must set up an individual time with Poleto in order for their budget to go through.

The blank template was attached to the email sent on Oct. 25. Finished copies, which must abide by the budget guidelines that were also included in the communication, must be sent to the Financial Controller email at sga_fc@washcoll.edu.

The final Omnibus Budget will be presented to the Senate for approval on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Any changes made to a club’s budget will be conveyed to their respective officers via email.
