The Chestertown community is getting used to some new faces in town.
The growth in popularity of pickle ball has brought a younger and more perceivable clientele to town to compete in waterfront contests.
One of these new Chestertonians is Brad Brad, a 26-year- old from Ceciltucky Md. Brad is trying to get more people to come down to Chestertown and attempts to appeal to the masses for a cash prize celebration competition.
One of the participants in this challenge, Will Done, was able to walk home with a $100 prize for his newest celebration consisting of using the pickle ball racket as a horse and galloping away after scoring.
This new recreation league rivals other groups such as the well known Chestertown bocce ball league, which is known to be supported by many within the Washington College community.
“These dang kids coming in here with their pickleballs is getting out of hand. We just want to have a peaceful time without all these dads, Brads, and Chads ruining our time,” an angry Chestertown resident said.
Registration is open for the new league, with several groups showing explicit interest.
One group is comprised of a team of campus squirrels who are looking to find a new way to pass the time. Additionally, the squirrels are looking to compete with Gus the Goose for a name, image, and likeness deal, which can be found in this issue.
“That goose makes silly videos on the internet and we want to show that we can do cool stuff like that too and we are the real campus celebrities,” Sandra the squirrel said.
The next competition is set to start April 32.
