During spring, we cannot deny the amazing way that we feel while walking to class, the breeze running through our hair. Whether walking, working out, or studying, students listen to music, and the songs most likely set the tone for their day.
With that in mind, here are six songs that you can add to your spring playlist.
“Red Balloon” by Charli XCX
Spring is often associated with blooming flowers and bright colors, so what better way to recognize the changing flora than with Charli XCX’s “Red Balloon.”
The song starts off with a blast, and Charli XCX is quick to jump in with a hype scream. This is the song that makes you want to dance or just feel good about life right in that moment.
This song would be great to include in your playlist with the goal of making you feel good.
“Los Manos” by Fuel Fandango
This track really brings the meaning of spring to life. Fuel Dandango’s voice blends with Leo Rizzi’s in a way that makes your arm hair stand on end.
The rhythm of the drums and tune of the acoustic guitar truly make this song Spanish. The production brings in a feeling of dancing or moving to the way the words of the song make you feel.
This song is meant for spring because of the way it sounds and how it leaves the listener feeling rejuvenated.
“Moment in the Sun” by Sunflower Bean
As the spring season starts, most people are eagerly awaiting the sun’s warmth; they are ready to get out and stop spending their time inside when outside has so much to offer.
Sunflower Bean’s “Moment in the Sun” perfectly captures this moment. This song is great for when the sun comes out from behind the rain clouds.
Think of listening to a song with classic guitar strums, a good drummer, and a synth piano as Julia Cumming sings to you about having the best day while out in the sun.
“Tongue Tied” by Group Love
This next song is a bit different in terms of what it represents in the springtime. Most college students in general feel nostalgic when it comes to hearing music from when they were growing up. Maybe it’s rock music that your dad played for you while you were a kid, or maybe an album featuring a piano was the reason you got into music. This song raises those memories and feelings for the listener.
“Tongue Tied” can remind you of playing with friends in their front yards, learning to ride your bike, or relaxing during spring break. These good vibes are sure to get you through the rest of the semester.
“Teleipatia” by Kali Uchis
This next track is for the R&B lovers. Kali Uchis “teleipatia” delivers warm and comforting feelings. This song is perfect to put on while locking into a long study session.
The drums, keyboards, and synth waves work together to highlight Kali Uchis’ voice.
Uchis is graceful yet bold with her voice as she switches between Spanish and English at the right times.
“It’s About Damn Time” by Lizzo
The title of this Lizzo single is relatable for anyone wishing the 30-degree weather would give way to the high 1960s and 1970s.
Throughout the track, Lizzo talks about everything she has been waiting for to come her way. The track serves as a reminder to take it easy once in a while. Lizzo also balances the vocals, guitars, drum sets, and keyboard to give off a bright and happy springtime vibe.
Hopefully these six songs can fill at least one spot on your springtime playlists. They represent a pop of joy and happiness that we all need to get rid of those winter blues.
