Washington College Women’s volleyball will take on the Muhlenberg College Mules on Nov. 2 in what will likely be the final home game of the season for WC.
The game will also be the senior day for the team, who will recognize the departing trio of team captains: outside hitters Lindsay Saddic and Colette Franck, and middle hitter Logan Kenny.
Saddic, an outside hitter for the Shorewomen, set career highs in kills (174), hitting percentage (.188), and total points (186). Her 186 total points put her at second on the team, while also leading the team in kills.
“I feel both excited and sentimental about entering the final stretch in my senior year at [WC]. I am super excited for the new adventures ahead but I’m also sad because I love being here and playing volleyball with my best friends,” Saddic said. “My team has made my college experience so special. Our team really feels like a family, and I am so grateful to have had all of them throughout my time here.”
After graduating, Saddic plans to attend graduate school and work toward a masters degree in psychology.
The seniors on the squad also lead this team on the court, with all of them starring in over 80 sets.
“It sounds corny but we play best when were having fun so making jokes and hyping each other up really goes a long way — and we’re pretty good at both of those things,” Franck aid.
Franck has set career highs in sets played (65), kills (123), and total points (134).
Kenny has set career highs this season with 72 kills, and is expected to set a new career high in total points, as she ties her career best with 11 so far this season.
After playing the Mules, WC will round out their season on the road. They take on the Swarthmore College Garnet on Nov. 6, and the Gettysburg College Bullets on Nov. 9. The Shorewomen sit at 11-9 overall, and 1-5 in Centennial Conference action.
