Washington College women’s lacrosse is set to commence their season on the heels of a thirteenth consecutive postseason berth. After beating Muhlenberg College in the first round 17-9, they were ousted from the postseason by Gettysburg College in a 20-9 contest. The Shorewomen finished 11-7 overall, 5-4 in Centennial Conference play.
The 2025 campaign begins Feb. 15 when they play host to the Marywood Pacers, their first of two home games to open the season; the Stevenson University Mustangs are their next opponent.
This season, the Shorewomen will travel to Salisbury University on March 1 and host York College on March 5.
After returning to Chestertown, the Shorewomen will host one more game against Montclair State University before Centennial Conference action begins. March 22 will see the Shorewomen travel to Carlisle, Pa. to face the Dickinson College Red Devils, who WC has bested five of the last six meetings.
The Shorewomen will have back-to-back home games with an April 2 doubleheader versus Ursinus College and a McDaniel College doubleheader on April 5.
WC then travels to Muhlenberg on April 12 for a rematch of last season’s first playoff game. The Shorewomen have taken care of the Mules eight of the last 10 times.
The team will have their senior day game on April 19 versus Franklin and Marshall College before ending their regular season at Gettysburg College on April 26.
“Looking to build off the success from last year, we’ve added some challenging out of conference opponents including a spring break trip to Florida in March,” head coach Meghan Lewis said. “The Centennial Conference is one of the premier conferences in Division III women’s lacrosse, and we are looking forward to competing against such a strong set of teams.”
The team will travel over spring break to Clearwater, Fla. over spring break where they will play St. John Fisher University on March 9 and Widener University on March 11.
The Shorewomen will welcome back several returning players from last season who were instrumental in making a postseason run last season.
Senior goalkeeper McKenna Seashole will return in the cage for WC for her second season with the team. Seashole started all 18 games last season, picking up 203 saves. Her average of 18 saves per contest led the Centennial Conference.
“I am very excited about my second season with [WC], especially because it is my last season, and I want to enjoy every second. Last season was great, and I am proud of our performance as a team,” Seashole said. “I know, personally, I am going to try and be more consistent and have less bad games, bad plays, and I think as a team we can all work to be consistently good and lock down more wins this season.”
Offensively, junior attacker Mia Salvatierra is coming off a career season, where she led the team with 42 goals and 65 points. She started all 17 games she appeared in, contributing 23 assists and a team best three game winning goals.
Fellow junior midfielder Anna Wilson also continues to build success after strong freshman and sophomore seasons. She added 29 goals and three assists, combining for 32 points and shots on goal percentage of 81.
Senior attacker Tobin Chambers finished her 2024 season second on the team in goals with 38 goals, two of which were game winners. She proved to be one of the most accurate Shorewomen, with almost 85 percent of her shots being on target.
This cast of high scoring Shorewomen hope to propel the team to a thirteenth consecutive postseason berth starting with Marywood on Feb. 15.
