Shoremen baseball’s impressive run through the 2025 campaign came to a conclusion. WC dropped its final two games versus Gettysburg College, including a thrilling 9-8 loss in their second contest versus the Bullets. The Shoremen finishes their season with a 19-21 record, and a 4–14 Centennial Conference finish.

In game one, the Shoremen fell to the Bullets 11-7. After lagging 1-0, the Shoremen rallied back in the bottom of the fourth inning with five runs.

Junior first baseman Drew Kinsey hit a home run with junior left fielder Chase Ruppel and freshman second baseman Matt O’Connor already on base. The three runs-batted-in homer also reset the program home run record at 23, which Kinsey continues to reset. Kinsey went full yard for the 11th time this season, which set the program record for most single-season homers.

“The home run record has always been on my mind since I have been on campus. Having the record feels surreal. None of this would be possible without [the] help of my teammates pushing me to be the best I can be. I’m very excited for the upcoming season to hopefully add on to the record,” Kinsey said.

The Shoremen gave up seven runs in the top of the sixth, while also giving up runs in the eighth and ninth innings to fall 11-7.

The second contest saw Gettysburg jump out to a 2-0 lead through the top of the fourth. Sophomore third baseman Zach Stolze returned home after being batted home by junior shortstop Ty Everitt. Kinsey reached home, and Everitt followed him while being batted home by senior center fielder Scooter Sanfillippo. WC retook the lead 3-2.

Gettysburg scored four runs in the top of the ninth to take a 9-4 lead into the bottom of the final inning.

WC did not go quietly into the night. Sophomore pinch runner Tahir Parker and freshman second baseman Brady Wozniack were batted home by junior catcher Reese Hirsh to bring WC within three runs at 9-6. Hirsh was batted home by Kinsey as well to add another Shoremen run.

Everitt posted his 100th career hit, scoring senior right fielder Will Turner. The Shoremen flew out to center field for the final out of the game, falling 9-8 after the attempted rally.

The Shoremen’s improvement in the 2025 campaign promises a lot of excitement for what the team will bring next spring, when they hope to return to the Centennial Conference playoffs for the first time since 2022.
